cw99 Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Looking for advice to see how much i should bid for 2 nights (september 5th and 6th) in Virginia Beach during the 1/2 marathon weekend. Wanting to stay on the beach at a 3star place. I think there is only 3 to chose from. what should i bid? any help appreciated..thanks!!
thereuare Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 With PRICELINE there is no way to ensure that the hotel you receive will be in the beach, you need to be able to accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone (which in this instance extend beyond the beachfront)If Beachfront is a must then you would be better advised to use HOTWIRE and purchase a hotel which shows the Beachfront icon.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.PS- any decisions or further information regarding your HOTWIRE NYC HOTEL stay? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

I didnt see the beachfront icon on either one of these though. When looking at priceline, there were 4 3stars that pulled up in the va beach area. Holiday inn executive, sheraton oceanfront, ocean beach club and crowne plaza. I'd love to be able to land on ocean beach club or the sheraton. and as far as nyc, i havent made a decision yet. figured i wanted to take care of this trip first before i figure out what im going to do with nyc. i have the option to stay with a friend there if i have too so its no biggie. thanks for all of your help!!!
yellowdog Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 cw99If beachfront is a must wouldn't i go for the HOTWIRE hotels if they don't list this. It's rare that a hotel with this location doesn't list an amenitie like that. Do you see any hotels for Virginia Beach Seaside? You shouldn't compare the hotels for PRICELINE's two diffrent services since they use diffrent hotels. This is covered in board's PRICELINE FAQ. You need to be willing to stay at any 3* (or higher) within the zone you're bidding at. This could mean a non beachfront hotel. Let us know how you want to proceed.Yellowdog.
