garthus Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Hi All,I am about to embark on a massive road trip around entire USA for 8 weeks starting in Vegas. It has been a long time since I used PRICELINE and I was looking for some assistance for a strategy. We will be landing in Vegas on the 26th October and were aiming to leave on the 29th.This is part of a round the world trip so I want to stay somewhere on the strip, ideally right in with the action. We have no set budget, but want a 4 star or better hotel. Is this enough information for a strategy? I am confused by hotwire but if that is a better place to go I am willing.I see the trump international is got a lot - is this a nice hotel?Cheers,Garthus
yellowdog Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! We need to know a few things first before we can help you with a starategy. Please post the zone(s) you're willing to stay in. If you want to stay on strip is there North and South strip. And bidding at the 4* level do you have to be open to stay at the 4* Westin (South strip). The Westin is located slight of the strip, but it's a fast walk to the action. You also got the 5* trump in the Nort zone. Trump is also slight of the strip and is a non casino hotel. Are you ok with this? We also need to know your budget/night.Please read this link: I've never used Priceline or HotwireIf you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.I hope this information get you started. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
garthus Posted August 14, 2009 Author Report Posted August 14, 2009 Thanks for a assistance - I am prepared to stay slightly off the stip as long as it is closeAs I said - no real budget, but want to stay in the strip area.is that enough?
thereuare Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 If you really "don't have a budget", and since you comment that you want to be 'in the action', i would sooner recommend using HOTWIRE making sure that you land on the strip as you will lose a bit of the "vegas vibe" by staying off-strip.HOTWIRE has a 5* hotel for $119/nite with Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business, Golf, Tennis, Spa icons. This is believed to be either the Wynn or the Venetian so that would be my best guess... either should suit your needs quite well and give you an excellent hotel. If you're looking to save some money and you believe the Trump would work fine for your needs than that is an option as well, but if this is your first time in Vegas i'd advise staying directly on the strip at a premier property. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.PS- please reply to our previous message Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
