Hotwire Hotel: 3* Boston (Brookline-Newton-Harvard) Crowne Plaza Newton

Amenities: Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center

Turns out, we got the Crowne Plaza Newton. Poised directly over the Mass Pike and an MBTA line, this hotel got a 1.7 on Expedia. We feared the worst, but it turned out well, especially considering I paid less for this stay than one at a Motel 6 outside of Buffalo. Parking is paid and $15 extra, though "go figure" when the attendant guy actually is in the booth. (If he's not, you can enter/exit at will.) You can, though, park your car overnight on the street. (Regulations are in effect after 7 am, and special snow emergency regulations apply to overnight parking between mid-November and mid-April.)
