bag Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 Have been trying for 9/12/09-9/13/09 over last couple of weeks bids between 55-90, plus I have 20 bonus cash that increases my bid (55-90 plus 20). Tried mainly 3-3.5-4 stars in chicago area, nma, lincoln park and grant park/mil park. First pick would be grant park if possible. Just tried again around 12cst for 75 plus 20 bonus cash =95 for all areas above and 3 stars, after reading previous post, but no luck. any advice?thanks.
AaronJB Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 Welcome to the site. I believe there is a convention going on during these dates - prices are absolutely on the high side - HOTWIRE has next to no availability. What would your budget be per night? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links when you are ready to book.
bag Posted August 13, 2009 Author Report Posted August 13, 2009 Thanks. I wanted to stick to under $130 with fees, etc included. Not sure how kowabunga was able to get a 3* for $75. Tried 2.5* a few times, but now a little gunshy as to what might get.
AaronJB Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Not sure how kowabunga was able to get a 3* for $75.Different dates.
AaronJB Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Quite a few hotels are sold out on this date, and the remainder are generally $250-300+.I'd try bidding for a 4* in the Millennium Park/Loop/Grant Park area to see if the Palmer House might accept, but it will likely take $100+ and quite possibly $130 may not be accepted for these dates if hotels are holding back inventory due to the convention. If you are driving, there are quite a few nice/cheap options in the 'burbs.Thank you for using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links.
bag Posted August 13, 2009 Author Report Posted August 13, 2009 one of the dates is the same, does it really matter that much that i am only staying one night?

bag Posted September 15, 2010 Author Report Posted September 15, 2010 Sorry didn't respond with our final plan. We wound up not going through PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, we weren't getting a good price. We called Habitat Corporate Suites directly and stayed at the Presidential Towers.
