klmrph Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 I was hoping that Priceline had inventory at the Intercontinental Miami Downtown because I wanted to be close to Bayside. I have stayed at the Hyatt before and I enjoyed my stay there, but I was going for the better location this time and thanks to this board, I was able to book the Intercontinental using EasyClickTravel.com. They had a blind 5 star in downtown Miami for $69 and I was about 99% sure that it was the Intercontinental, so I went for it. The description of the hotel on each website had identical wording. I just stumbled across this board this past week while doing a google search for Hotwire forums. I have always used the "other" bidding forum's site, but this one looks more informative because of the Hotwire information thats included here. I like to use Hotwire at times to make sure I am getting certain amenities. Thanks for a great board and introducing me to EasyClickTravel. I didn't realize that you had a link, but next time I will use it. KristyPorter, IndianaGo Blue ( I grew up in Michigan)
thereuare Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding!Glad we were able to introduce you to EASYCLICKTRAVEL and you were succesful in getting a hotel room thru them.I had only learned of them recently and thus far have found quite a few examples of their opaque product ("off the record" as they refer to it) being extremely competitive... as your evidence of them beating Priceline in this example proves. The one thing i wish they would improve is that their selections either show "available" or "on request" and you don't really know if the 'on request' hotels are available until you book it (they get back to you within 8 hours). We're glad you've noticed the difference between us and some other sites out there; although most of the information here is focused on Priceline and Hotwire, our ultimate goal is to help users get the best price on travel... no matter which service that may be thru. In that regard, we're also willing and able to help 'unmask' some of EasyClickTravel's Off The Record offerings. I'm certain in time we'll begin to know in what areas they're most competitive and we'll continue to use that information to all of our advantage. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
