seen444 Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 I raise my bids form $40 to $65 and still getting the message that price line cannot accept my offer at this time. I am not sure what is happening. Anyone had the same problem. Please help
AaronJB Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 Welcome to the site. One cannot bid for a particular hotel on PRICELINE, and while I'm unsure what you are bidding exactly, if you are trying to place a bid and it is not being accepted, then that price is not high enough at this time for what you selected and/or there is no inventory. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
MadFlyer Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 Hard to help without dates. This is not a Hotwire city so nothing to base rates on for Priceline really. Not all hotels use them and sometimes other channels are still better in some markets. That is a big Accor market if you wanted a good idea of rate ranges. http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/home/index.shtmlWhat are your dates?

I did not specify any Hotel name I just selected The city(there are no zones) and a 3 star rating hotels. I think what I am offering is reasonable otherwise why bother to book through priceline if other websites offer booking for probably 10- 15 dollars more!
MadFlyer Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 It appears that those dates go automatically to Priceline's online travel agency, which is not the same as the alternative distribution discounted rates. While you know the name of the hotel that way the prices are similar to what you would pay in other channels to book a room. That would indicate that there is maybe an event or that priceline has no inventory on those dates. Lyon is not really a reported Priceline city and may not even have a hotel to offer in that market.

It just happened to be my yearly vacation time. I will probably go through other channels to book my room. My first experience with Priceline is not so encouraging. But, no matter how I will book my room, my vacation is going to be fun :)
