Priceline Hotel: 4* Detroit Downtown help (or comparable)

Hi all,

I'm looking for a little help in booking a couple nights in downtown detroit. Would like to book a 4* and see that the Atheneum is $129/night right now without any bids and I'm not terribly opposed to that would obviously like to do a little better, but im worried about putting a bid in for a 4* downtown and getting the airport westin which would not be anywhere near what I'm looking for. But for whatever reason it comes up in the downtown area in my search.. any suggestions on a bid for atheneum or someone who stayed there?

You will not get any hotels in airport zone unless you bid for them. Keep your bidding to the DT and you're fine.

Atheneum is never reported as a PRICELINE hotel to the board. The only 4* that is reported to the board is the Westin Book Cadillac in DT zone. But you have to be willing to stay in any unreported 4* hotel if you're bidding in the DT zone.

If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.
