Hotwire Hotel: Newbie to Hotwire/Priceline. Booking hotel room for 2 with 2 queen be

Read the common question thread on the whole one room and two beds issue. So is it safe to say that one should book through Hotwire instead of Priceline for the sake of securing a room with two beds? Or does someone have prior experience with going with Priceline, calling after getting a room and asking to have two beds in the hotel room. Is there maybe a hotel that better accomodates this request more so than another? Me and another buddy are trying to book a room in the Quincy Market area of Boston from Sept 10-15/09. Your advice is much appreciated.

Thanks.

HOTWIRE is a much safer bet than PRICELINE when it comes to two beds. I'd recommend looking up 2 adults and 1 child on HOTWIRE in an attempt to guarantee bedding for more than one person (likely two beds, possibly 1 + sofabed.)

It's not that one cannot get two beds via a PRICELINE reservation, it's simply not guaranteed, and the hotel would have the right to say no to offering you two beds or possibly charging an upgrade fee to get a room w/2 beds. Again though, they could possibly outright say no. It also may depend on the day or even who you talk to at check-in. There's not a hotel that deals with this request better than the others in any particular zone, because things can change from day-to-day, and even if there was a hotel that dealt with this request better than others, there would be absolutely no way to guarantee getting it on PRICELINE.

Are there any HOTWIRE properties in your range showing when you do a search?

I went on hotwire and basically for the Quincy Market area there is the following:

3.5* $204 Smokefree, Fitness, Restaurant, Internet

3* $154 Smokefree, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Internet

4* $179 Smokefree, Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet Omni Parker???

4.5* $175 Smokefree, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center Internet, Spa Intercontinental??Langham???

Although I went to Priceline and seen that someone got a 3* for $90(think that is US$). But the whole 'having two beds' thing comes into play(getting one and likely paying an extra charge for the extra person). Just wondering what my best bet should be. I went on Expedia and saw the Hilton for approx. $207(Canadian that is, of which i am) and it would at least gaurantee me two beds in the room..

The Hilton is $197 on Orbitz, and the coupon code SUMMERVIN appears to take 15% off (although that may require using a Visa to purchase, but at least when entering the code it does take 15% off on the first screen.) $197 - 15% = $167.45US for 2 beds (non-refundable.)

Please use the site's Orbitz.com link to start your purchase if this idea is of interest.

The $197 Orbitz hotel AaronJB is refering to is the Hilton Back Bay and the coupon does work for this property... the Hilton you're looking at for $211 is the Hilton Financial and the coupon code does not work for that property.

Is this of interest or do you want to pursue the HOTWIRE properties above?
