I used the PRICELINE link through Better Bidding.

1st bid: selected North Shore, 4*, $50- rejected but offer to increase bid by $14

2nd bid: added Deerfield, $57- accepted

Renaissance Chicago North Shore

933 Skokie Boulevard

Northbrook, IL 60062

$57 + $14.38 taxes

$71.38 for one night

I'm going to Ravinia for a concert, and this hotel is one of the recommended hotels on Ravinia's website. According to the Marriott website, a room at this hotel for the night selected is normally $179.

Earlier this summer, I went to another concert at Ravinia and stayed at the Westin, which is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I am hoping for the same at the Renaissance!

This is a former Sheraton that is not far from Ravinia - if you're driving, you would head North on Skokie Valley Road to Lake Cook, then East on Lake Cook to Green Bay. I think there may be parking in Highland Park and then a trolley that goes to Ravinia, but I'm not sure on the details and that may begin to get a bit too complicated and out-of-the-way.

The only issue with this property is that there's really not much right there, but that's really not an issue if you're driving. Barnaby's pizza is directly across the street - while not the world's greatest pizza, it is an institution and has been there for decades - worth looking into if you don't want to drive.

Additionally, this hotel is not far from the "walk-in" entrance to the Botanic Garden, which is just across the expressway. The Chicago Botanic Garden is gorgeous and worth seeing if you have the time - and walking in saves a $20 parking fee (there is no admission.)

Using the site's PRICELINE link is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for posting your win and enjoy your stay & the concert.

Thanks for the info on both restaurants and the Botanical Garden tip!
