TamCaP Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 I am deeply sorry for anyone who hasn't gotten their accommodation for SfN arranged already. Direct booking prices have skyrocketed, and that's the deal that my colleague got on Priceline yesterday. He authorized me to post it here for him after my request:$140... rejected$150... rejected$160... rejectedHe apparently bid earlier up to $170 for a 4* with no luck. The room he got is in a Central Loop Hotel, which is not affiliated SfN hotel, however it's about 3 blocks from the nearest shuttle stop. Please note, hotel does not offer 2 Doubles at all and Priceline books into a Queen bed.
TamCaP Posted August 10, 2009 Author Report Posted August 10, 2009 silly me.... obviously the $160 was approved in the end, for a 3*.
yellowdog Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 Thanx for your post! Can you please post the name of the hotel.Yellowdog.
AaronJB Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 Did the original poster mean the Central Loop Hotel (aka Club Quarters Loop)?
TamCaP Posted August 10, 2009 Author Report Posted August 10, 2009 The name given by PL is Central Loop Hotel. I guess it's the Club Quaters thing.
AaronJB Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 This is a nice property, although I do find it a bit mysterious that both CQ locations in the area go by two different names. One note: there really isn't anything going on in the area directly around the hotel later in the evening (the Loop area can get pretty quiet at night) - your colleague would be best advised to stock up on necessities (snacks, drinks, etc.) before heading back to the hotel if they do not want to go too far out at night.
