TommyV Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 I just used the PRICELINE link from this site to book a hotel room for Sunday Sept. 6, 2009. I started out by bidding for a 4* hotel in the NMA-River North area at $60. That bid did not win but a message said if I was willing to increase my bid by $17, I could rebid without any other changes. Having read posts on this site I knew I didn't necessarily have to bid that much so I decided to decline their offer and rebid $65 adding Lincoln Park, which does not offer any 4* hotels. That bid was rejected so I added the Skokie-Evanston area (also no 4*) and bid $70. This bid was accepted by The W Hotel Lakeshore. A standard room on their own site is $159 for that night. I've never stayed there before but it looks nice. Bid $70, + tax and fees of $18.10 = $88.10 total
yellowdog Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 Thank you for sharing your win with the board :) Enjoy your stay. Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start future purchases.Yellowdog.
AaronJB Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 Probably the lowest rate I've ever seen for this property. I'll also recommend Fox and Obel Market and Cafe (fox-obel.com), which is a short walk away on the corner of McClurg and Illinois.
