TravelGurl77 Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 Not picky about brand at all, need it from 8/17 - 8/23 pick up drop off at Palm Springs Airport. Compact or bigger, midsize preferred. What should I put as starting bid? And what's the Alamo deal you are talking about?
thereuare Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 What is the best rate you're able to get thru conventional booking channels? TravelGurl77 Posted August 10, 2009 Author Report Posted August 10, 2009 So far, best rates range from $159-$177 for intermediate/full size. I did use the checker, that helped to know that's the going rate. I'll keep checking. Pls do advise if you hear of a good deal or that the prices are dropping!

TravelGurl77 Posted August 11, 2009 Author Report Posted August 11, 2009 $27.50/day, Dollar Rental Car
thereuare Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 If you haven't already i'd book the above as a back-up reservation (assuming it's fully cancellable, which rental cars usually are, and a credit card isn't even usually needed to reserve)... please use our Dollar Rent a Car link for your reservation. From there, HOTWIRE has a $26.xx per day rate for this rental, so i'd try to use that as the price to beat thru PRICELINE... i'd star at $18 and increase $2-$3 every 24 hours for the next 3 days. If rejected and the HOTWIRE deal is still available then book there. Also note that taxes and fees can often differ when booking thru PRICELINE vs. HOTWIRE, so be sure to check the HOTWIRE total first, and make sure that the amount you bid on PRICELINE doesn't exceed this amount. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. (or Dollar Rent a Car)Good luck and let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
