Priceline Hotel: 2.5* San Francisco (Civic Center) Whitcomb

Thanks graciously to the bidding strategies I observed on this board and the excellent Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins I was able to get a bid accepted at Hotel Whitcomb for about 1/3 the price shown on their website.

At first I was up to about $65 bidding on 3* places in the USE, USW, SOMA, Fish Wharf areas and got rejected about 4 or 5 times.

Then, I went and started over after seeing the bid on the calendar someone else won for $40 on a 2.5* in the Civic Center region that same weekend.

Started at $48 - Civic Center and was rejected

Then bid $53 - added USW and was accepted

I did use your PRICELINE link to make the reservations. Now if I can just get something done on a rental car!
