chargerman21 Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 Hey guys I've been a long time reader and mainly do all of my purchases thru this website especially when I visit Las Vegas. I've always booked for myself and my girlfriend but now I have a trip in which I need to book for two more additional people, and we would all like to be in the same room. I find great prices and higher end hotels on hotwire when I search for two people, but when I change the search to add all 4 people, prices go up and there a fewer amount of hotel choices (which obviously makes sense when you add more people). But my question is concerning how easy do you think it is to get two beds in a room at checkin? I plan on booking for only two people and going to check-in and asking for two queen beds instead of 1 king, so I can include everyone in the same room. I just dont want to get stuck with only having one bed and trying to figure out who's going to sleep where... so just trying to get an idea of what people think of this situation.thanks for any help!

ferf1223 Posted August 9, 2009 Report Posted August 9, 2009 In our experience in Vegas having gone a fair few times, there are more 2-queen rooms than 1-king rooms at most if not all hotels...this would make sense as 2 queen beds can accomodate a couple as well as various other combinations of visitors. That doesn't mean you will definately get 2 beds - but in our experience someone requesting 1-king is more likely to end up with 2- queens than the other way around. But if you're booking for 2 and 4 are staying in the room, remember that 2 people won't be on the reservation so won't be able to get a key to get into the room if they lose theirs. You may also want to consider tipping the maid a bit as it will likely be obvious there are more than 2 people in the room. Hotwire prices are higher for more than 2 people as the hotels normally charge more for more than 2 people...personally I'd be worried of getting caught and having to pay more for the extra people but people do do this regularly.
AaronJB Posted August 9, 2009 Report Posted August 9, 2009 I'm guessing you would get one bed - there's been several instances of people being denied 2 beds at the Wynn or having the hotel require them to pay quite a bit more for 2 beds.
chargerman21 Posted August 11, 2009 Author Report Posted August 11, 2009 thanks for everyones input...i guess i'll post what happens if i decide to book for two people instead of four
chargerman21 Posted August 3, 2010 Author Report Posted August 3, 2010 Wow I can't believe I forgot to post what happened last summer but what ended up happening was that I just ended up booking a room for one bed and was able to get two beds after calling and asking for two beds after the confirmation booking. I was just really nice and asked for two beds after I called and it the Venetian was able to help. We were able to get two room keys and that was more than enough to let all 4 of us in the room up and down the elevators. We did also tip extra since there were more ppl in the room.
