Yes,

This hotel is a "newly" rated *4. It definitely was a 3 just a short time ago.

I got that info from another board in which a poster was very unhappy that

the Hyatt was now a *4 as he had bid $85 a night for a *4 Priceline and

expected the Westin or Renaissance or Hilton, and was surprised that

the Hyatt was now in the mix.

All the reviews I've read about the Hyatt LB have been very positive. They

completed a renovation of the hotel in 2003. The rooms are somewhat small. However, they look very nice from what I can tell. I will definitely report back after I stay there in February!

My only concern, or part I dont like and I havent been there yet is no balconies! Hate a hotel room with no where to go but in! Especially with the ocean and harbor at your doorsteps, wouldnt you want to step outside your room for coffee on the balcony! Oh well, I will let you know what I think as well! I have a friend who works at the Hyatt and hopefully she can upgrade us to a suite for the priceline price! now that will be a SAVINGS! Happy Memorial Day all, last year I got Newport beach Hyatt for $100 this year Long Beach Hyatt. Keeping it in the family! lol
