skyejamie Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 I have been trying to get Marriott for 9/13 to 9/15 with no luck for over a week. I have gone up to 126.00. Has any one tried for a 3 star hotel and if so what did they get? Am I too early or to late to try and get the Marriott? If I go for a three star I would like to get breakfast included but I don't see how I can do that. Any suggestions?
clarsonx Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 I've been trying for the Marriott over 8/25-8/28 for a few weeks now with no success. I've been bidding $100-115. Occasionally I will get a counter offer for around $170, but even that hasn't happened for the past few days.I have not tried Priceline for a 3 star hotel because I already have a reservation for the Avenue hotel for $120 through Hotels.com.
skyejamie Posted August 6, 2009 Author Report Posted August 6, 2009 Thanks for your help. I think I had better reserve a back up hotel also.I do have the Marriott on reserve using points but the two nights would use up half of all our points and I don't think it is worth it.
skyejamie Posted August 8, 2009 Author Report Posted August 8, 2009 I have been bidding on Priceline for about 10 days. to try and get the Marriott. My dates are 9/13 to 9/15/2009. I have seen others say they have changed their bid to the airport area when they are rejected and have success then. I sure don't want to be by the airport. Is their any risk involved in using the airport area? I have noticed that some have said there are no 4 star hotels at the airport. I just need to be reassured !
Romelle Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 Apparently you are bidding on 4* hotels? If so, just before you start to bid, mark JUST the airport and see if it is possible to bid at the 4* level OR HIGHER. If the buttons light up, you could get a hotel in that area so don't bid the airport area. If the buttons (again 4* and higher) don't light up, you can safely use the airport area as a "free rebid" to continue your bidding. You do need to read up on free rebidding in the FAQ area here if you don't understand it.Romelle
Romelle Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 You can look at the Priceline "retail" or direct purchase side and see what 3* offerings they have for Copenhagen. You can't totally count on that being the possibilities for bidding, but it is at least highly indicative. As to getting breakfast, with bidding there is no way to make sure it will be included. Sorry. Romelle
thereuare Posted August 9, 2009 Report Posted August 9, 2009 The Copehagen Airport zone isn't currently a 'selectable' zone... it's greyed out and and can't be chosen. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
