ialvarado2 Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 After looking at different prices for about a month in hotwire and making some unsuccessful bids about 3 weeks ago I tried this again.Out trip is actually from 9/10 to 9/14 but decided to bid only for the first 3 days as they are they most expensive ones and make a separate bid for the last one in a different hotel probably. This turned out to be cheaper. Unlike other people I was actually trying to get Trump tower. Bid 1 $80 Strip North 5 stars- RejectedBid 2 $85 Added sector, kept 5 stars - Rejected and taken away from Name you own pricehad to start againBid 3 $89 Strip North, 2 more sectors, 5 stars - Got counteroffer to bid $22 more for same options.I rejected this and placed another bidBid 4 $93 Strip North plus 4 sectors, 5 stars - AcceptedHotwire had 'this property' for $106 plus taxes so ended up saving about $40 dlls.I might get the last night on Hotwire though.ps.. I've used these forums for a while and never came back to post my results, I'm sorry for that. I'll post everything from now on.ps2... I forgto to put the price on the title, maybe and administrator can fix this. Also is Strip North, I got confused with hotwire. thanks.

brosnan6 Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 What other sectors did you use for your other bids? I'm trying to do the same thing for the same weekend (9/11-9/13) and I keep getting rejected when I do 5* strip north for $93. A few weeks ago they offered me $111, but now the offer price has jumped to $141! This is my first time doing the priceline method and this whole concept of adding sectors is very confusing to me -- I don't want to end up with a hotel in the wrong area. Thanks!
yellowdog Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 brosnan6Welcome to betterBidding! The board would be happy to help you. But please start a new topic for your own stay since this topic has already reported a 'win' and your dates are not exactly the same (your dates are one day shorter) than the OP's.Yellowdog
ialvarado2 Posted August 13, 2009 Author Report Posted August 13, 2009 Hi, I tried to add two rooms for 9/11 - 9/13 and got rejected too.. I tried up to 120 per night and was no good. I noticed in HOTWIRE they raised the prices a lot specially for Friday and Saturday so I suppose the price would be raised in PRICELINE as well. When I got the 93 price I bid 5 stars strip north, then added everything else ecept strip south bc nothing has another 5 star hotel.I ended up booking at a different website where I found it for 120 plus tax on those 2 days you're looking forbut I don't know if I can post informationa bout other sites.Question, Should I post rejected bids?? (I have a couple of them, :))
