Brazilian_soul Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 Hi guys, believe it or not, I just heard about Priceline a few days ago...as you may guess, I'm not a regular traveller.I will be in Paris from Oct 13th - Oct 19th. I have some questions and would really be grateful if you could help me clear them:1. Is october an expensive month in terms of hotels? 2. Should I start bidding as of now? Or is it better to bid closer (lets say 1 month in advance) to the actual dates?3. For Priceline, I plan to avoid the following regions: Bastille - Bercy Area, Batignolles - Montmartre - Republique and Eiffel Tower - Port De Versailles - Montparnasse. Reason: I have read that Priceline hotels in those regions could be in not so convenient locations meaning far in the suburbs and/or in "more dangerous" places. Is this correct?Thank you all. Tips provided in the threads have been great.Best of luck.
brianc_li Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 1. Is october an expensive month in terms of hotels?September is arguably the busiest month of the year. October is not as bad but is still quite busy2. Should I start bidding as of now? Or is it better to bid closer (lets say 1 month in advance) to the actual dates?Up to you. As long as you are CERTAIN about your dates no reason not to start bidding now. Remember there are no cancellations, refunds or changes to PL bookings.3. Is this correct? If you stick to Champs Elysee & Latin Quarter you are guaranteed to be in the center of things. So, the answer is yes.
Brazilian_soul Posted August 7, 2009 Author Report Posted August 7, 2009 Brianc_li, thanks for the help. Ended up going for a studio @ Republique for E75. Decided for it given good location in terms of transportation, nice area (peoploe say). Since my idea is to spend little time at the apartment, that fit.
