PKRJP Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 I have been doing the math trying to figure out if using taxis or a rental car would be cheaper and more efficient for a one night, pre-cruise stay in Miami. I figured that a taxi to the hotel from MIA and to the port and out to dinner would probably run $50 - $60, with little flexibility on where we could go. There are four of us going so we needed an SUV for the luggage. So I low-balled PRICELINE and placed a bid for a standard SUV for $25 (even though Priceline advised I bid at least $52 to have a "good" chance), and to my surprise I got one from Alamo. I've always been happy with Alamo so this is a good deal for us. And they have a free shuttle between the airport and port. Total came to about $42.50 after taxes.
