Puchica Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 OK, so I was going to stay at the Hilton New York on the Avenue of the Americas. But the group block was filled up :) So, any help on getting a hotel close to it? I'm looking to spend around $200/night....the dates are Aug 8-Aug 11.Help please!!!
thereuare Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 There are plenty of options within your budget... what is most important:-budget-star quality / reviews-proximity to the Hilton (and do you need to be walking distance, subway distance, cab distance, etc?)Please follow-up your previous Priceline Airfare thread with whatever you ended up doing for that ticket... then bump this thread, lettting us know the info above, and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Puchica Posted August 4, 2009 Author Report Posted August 4, 2009 Like I said above, I'd like to stay around $200 for the top price. If I can get a similar star quality/review as the Hilton that would be ideal. And it must be walking distance....
Puchica Posted August 4, 2009 Author Report Posted August 4, 2009 What part would you recommend I bid on so that I can get a hotel that fits the needs I listed above?

Puchica Posted August 4, 2009 Author Report Posted August 4, 2009 Ok, I finished off my other thread! Sorry about that.So for my necessities above, how should I go about this?
Puchica Posted August 4, 2009 Author Report Posted August 4, 2009 OK, I was trying to get the Central Park or Midtown West 4 star hotels, for Aug 8-11. I did a bid of $170 and got a counteroffer of $195. I went back to the main page and it didn't recognize that I had previously bid, so I was able to do the same place at $185 and I got it.Sofitel----little farther then I would have liked, but eh....$185/night.
AaronJB Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 Congratulations on your success! While you may be slightly disappointed location-wise, this is still a marvelous deal for the #5 rated hotel in NYC on tripadvisor. Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start future purchases.Enjoy your stay.
