seachicken
Now, what the heck is there to do in Bellevue? :)Actually, there are a lot of good options in Bellevue depending on what you're looking for... The Hyatt is right across the street from the Bellevue Square Mall, one of the most upscale malls in the Seattle area with lots of shopping and restaurants. That area of Bellevue has also undergone a major upgrade over the past 10-15 years, so there are numerous restaurants and night club types of entertainment all within blocks of each other. Here are some highlights:Daniel's Broiler - upscale steak house style restaurant. Entrees are pricey $30-50/each, but they have a great happy hour with 1/2 price appetizers and drink specialsLucky Strike - a bowling alley/nightclub wrapped up into one. Not your typical bowling alley (they have a dress code, fancy drinks, etc), but a cool place for a unique time. The Parlor - billiard hall/bar...in the same complex as Lucky Strike...don't wear a hat if you go thereMovie Theatre - accessible by new skybridge from the Hyatt side of the street...in same building as Parlor and Lucky StrikeBis on Main - my favorite restaurant in Bellevue (a few blocks to the south on Main St in "Old Bellevue"). Excellent food, nice atmosphere, good happy hour. Again a little pricey, but worth it.Old Bellevue - quite a few cute shops, a French style cafe bakery with outstanding coffee and amazing pastries.Bellevue Central Park - immediately to the South of Bellevue Square...pretty park with a walking loopLake Washington - numerous beachfront parks on the Lake within walking distance if you don't mind a 10-15 minute walkVery close to downtown Seattle, even via bus (from the Bellevue transit center)...15 minute ride maybe from there (or less)Bellevue Galleria - more restaurants and retail Link to comment
goke
The Hyatt was great, a worker told us we were the first to use the room as that new tower had opened a few days prior. The main reason I went there was to go to Epicurean Edge in Kirkland and spend too much money on kitchen knives. I'd like to get back to Bellevue and try some of your recommendations- thanks seachicken!! Link to comment
