Steph58
One of my least favorite Hyatts but it beats driving to the airport at 5 a.m. Tax & fees was $11.20. If my math is right, PL is making $7.50 on their s/c as tax for this hotel is 10%. I guess PL has decided to slip this increase in on us. I noticed on a different (failed) bid the tax/fee listed went up over $1 within a few days for the same bid amount, same zone. Now I have to stop and take time to think, is PL still the best option. Usually the answer is yes, but not always. Link to comment
thereuare
Thank you for the report! Was this your first bid in this zone for this stay?Priceline's fee has indeed gone up, but i think the deals we get are substantial enough that $1 won't make much of a difference. However, this is one of the problems with companies (Priceline, as well as most of the other travel companies) that combine the taxes and fees... users don't know how much each component makes up of the combined figure and it is all too easy to 'sneak' price increases. On a similar note, there was a Hotwire instance a while back where the taxes and fees were astronomical... a note to the company received the standard "the price will be shown to your before you before purchase." Only thru a customer service rep that visits this board was the problem able to get rectified.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
