I am happy with that.However, my question is this: When a counteroffer is given by priceline, is there any ballpark rule as to what a successful bid will be?In other words, if the counter offer is for $20 more per night, would a bid of 1/2 that ($10) be successful, or 2/3, or 1/3, etc. Or is there no general trend that people have noticed?
thereuare Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your results with the board.Can you please add a reply to this thread with the name of the hotel you received so we can add this information to the topic title.There is no science as to how much it will take when presented with a counter-offer... we've seen it take just $1 more and i've also seen a bid up to the counter-offer amount fail (although this is the excpetion to the rule), but a good rule of thumb, especially is if you don't have re-bid zones left, is to cut the counter-offer in half.
