Priceline Hotel: 2* Williamsburg (Center-Outlets) Holiday Inn Patriot

I read some of the bidding strategies here, and started bidding for Williamsburg hotel.

Started with 3.5* Outlet area - $40 (Fail)

Added the other area - $45 (Fail)

Included 3* - $48 (Fail)

I read some posts where people added 2* at this point, but still won a 3* hotel. I took that chance, but ended up winning a Holiday Inn Patriot (2 rooms at $45 each). I read some reviews and DO NOT want to stay here. I will have to forget the money I paid for this bid :)

I'm really looking to get a 3* hotel here. Could someone help me out here!

Sorry to hear about your bidding 'mistake'... you should never add a 'live' zone unless you're willing to stay in that zone. Since you knew about the board and were doing research here, not sure why you didnt' stop at that point and ask for help :)

Yes, I really should have stopped at that point :) I am just angry at myself for adding a star I was not comfortable with. Lesson well learned, albeit an expensive one!
