chocdiggity Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 for 8/3/09 Started at $50, raised to $55 on one free rebid (which I'd hoped would work)... They'd offered it on a counter at $14 over the $50 (which seemed high).Discount relative to list is not very good here (if it goes much higher I could book something not opaque), but I think the hotel this will produce would be good and at least a bit lower than list. Used this site's PRICELINE link. Will try again tomorrow (using this site's link).
chocdiggity Posted August 1, 2009 Author Report Posted August 1, 2009 Went in again today and they'd dropped rates on PRICELINE's non-opaque listing for the 2.5* Comfort Suites there (not sure if it was the same one I was bidding on or not, but it was very well reviewed). So got the Comfort Suites without guessing for the equivalent of my initial rejected bid yesterday (after the Fee Chop). The Holiday Inn Express (also well reviewed) appears to be the opaque listing from what I read here, though perhaps it might have been this one.Used this site's PRICELINE link to get started.
