mullertwin Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 I won this bid through this site at Hotwire for only $51 per night. I was concerned because all the reviews I saw on the internet made it sound like a dump. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised. When I checked in, I did have to wait awhile to be helped. It appears that the second check-in person was on their break so there was only one person at the desk. I was checked in very easily and asked to swipe my credit card for any incidentals. There was no charge ever made since I booked via Hotwire. I explained that I had an injury and needed a room close to a parking spot and on the first floor. The property is pretty big. They granted my requests without any problems at all. I asked for help in getting my luggage to the room. It appears that most people do it themselves as this is a more condo type property. However, with my injury I needed help. When I got to the room I was pleasantly surprised to see that not only was it clean but they apparently upgraded me to a 2 bedroom. My win at Hotwire was for a 1 bedroom. The entire 2 bedroom was very clean and although the decor would not be my taste in my own home, it was clean and fairly new looking. The kitchen was very nice with a really nice refrigerator that had an automatic ice machine. The appliances all worked very well, microwave, oven & stove included. The beds were very comfortable and we checked for bed bugs and luckily there weren't any! The bathrooms were really nice with those curved shower curtain rods so your body doesn't touch the curtain. Plus they were very clean. The only complaint I would state is that the washer cycle took forever and the dryer cycle didn't dry my clothes even after 2 cycles on high. Plus the washer/dryer "room" (off the patio) had a very musty smell. Regardless, my clothes did become clean and dry eventually.I would definitely stay here again.
