coharaca Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 My wife and I were together when I clicked the "book trip" button on the Hotwire page and both exclaimed "on what planet is a Howard Johnson's a three star?!?"Anyway, the trip advisor reviews are OK. I suppose we just need a place to crash while we visit friends.Published rate is $55, so we didn't save all that much. I could have done much, much better if I was willing to spend $15 more a night. I probably would have ended up with the nearby Embassy Suites. The listed amenities are:Airport ShuttleFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-speed Internet AccessTotal costs:Hotel rate per night - Hotwire hot Rate: $41.00Nights: 2Rooms: 1Subtotal: $82.00Tax recovery charges and fees: $17.20Total price: $99.20Used the HOTWIRE link.Thanks.
thereuare Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 Thank you for sharing your results with the board.Sorry to hear you're disappointed with the outcome of this properyt, but for the most part HOTWIRE is now rating hotels based upon the average star rating of the "Big 3" online travel agenies. While Expedia rates this porperty 2.5*, both Travelocity and Orbitz rate this property 3*, so hopefully this is a "diamond in the rough" Howard Johnson and you'll be pleasantly surprised. If there's a property you're about to purchase and would like a second opinion as to what you think you might be receiving feel free to ask the board for help.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
