My wife and I were together when I clicked the "book trip" button on the Hotwire page and both exclaimed "on what planet is a Howard Johnson's a three star?!?"

Anyway, the trip advisor reviews are OK. I suppose we just need a place to crash while we visit friends.

Published rate is $55, so we didn't save all that much. I could have done much, much better if I was willing to spend $15 more a night. I probably would have ended up with the nearby Embassy Suites.

Sorry to hear you're disappointed with the outcome of this properyt, but for the most part HOTWIRE is now rating hotels based upon the average star rating of the "Big 3" online travel agenies. While Expedia rates this porperty 2.5*, both Travelocity and Orbitz rate this property 3*, so hopefully this is a "diamond in the rough" Howard Johnson and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
