traveler17 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Hello,Assistance please. This will be potentially my first time using priceline. I am looking to book 2 rooms for 8 people for a bachelorette party. I would like a somewhat nicer, roomier room considering to occasion and number of people. Can someone please advise where I should start prices wise and what I should enter to try to get better rooms... even a large suite if possible. Dates are 9/4 to 9/6. Any help will be appreciated.
yellowdog Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Just a note before AaronJB, boards Chicago expert will guide you.Priceline only guarante a room for two adults. So you can get a room with only 1 queen bed. And you can't bid at suites when using PRICELINE. I would suggest that you look at HOTWIRE for this stay. Yellowdog.PS. This is a good link: I've never used Priceline or Hotwire
AaronJB Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 The issue with PRICELINE or HOTWIRE is that reservations with either service are not eligible for upgrades. Bidding more is not going to get a nicer room or different hotel on PRICELINE, for example - both services offer great discounts, but the trade-off for those prices is the requirement that one has to be more flexible about where they end up. I'm not seeing any properties with an "S" (Suite) icon for these dates on HOTWIRE, unfortunately. There's also the issue of a property being more "party-friendly" (to a reasonable degree, at least.)In terms of regular rate recommendations, the Amalfi is showing for $203 on Orbitz.com for these dates. This hotel would offer both breakfast and evening reception, as well as be in the middle of the nightlife-heavy River North area. If you use coupon code SUMMERVIN, that may work to take 15% off the per night/per room price. There's also the Hotel Sax for $197, but I'd rather suggest the Amalfi for a few $ more (given the freebies.)I'm not seeing much on HOTWIRE when searching for 2 rooms/8 adults - the Intercontinental is showing for $179, but I'd still rather suggest the Amalfi deal w/the coupon via Orbitz instead. You could try for three rooms via PRICELINE, as that would likely be cheaper than 2 from HOTWIRE.Let us know your thoughts and we can proceed with further advice from there. Please use the site's Orbitz.com, HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.
thereuare Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 Can you please give us an idea of your budget as well? For example, if the hotels/prices above are within your expectatations, i think you may be able to get 4rooms for 8 people for about the same price... so that's another option as well. (which i imagine will also make it easier for 8 women to get ready to go out for the nite)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
