ladybugsea Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 8/4-8/6Marriott Harbourfront $179CDNWestin $151CDNBid $47, $53, $57. Is there a 3rd rebid if I add 3.5*? Not willing to go much higher, we were debating whether or not to go to Halifax. Should I try again tomorrow? I thought I would have good luck with a low price because the rates are low.
thereuare Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Rates are low, but your bids are still nearly 1/3 to less than 1/2 of prevailing rates... most recent wins are in the $65-$80 range. It doesn't hurt to continue bidding, but keep in mind that your chances of success are not that great (but still a chance nonetheless)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide or if we can be of further help. ladybugsea Posted July 27, 2009 Author Report Posted July 27, 2009 Thanks, I think I will try again today starting in the 60s. Can I use 3.5* as a third free rebid?
thereuare Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Can I use 3.5* as a third free rebid?I wouldn't recommend it... although no 3.5* properties have been reported to the board, PRICELINE does offer 3.5* bidding in this zone, so you should assume that a hotel that this star rating exists. If you would like a more detailed bidding strategy feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck. ladybugsea Posted July 28, 2009 Author Report Posted July 28, 2009 Yippee!! Got Halifax Marriott Harbourfront!! Was expecting (if anything) to get the Westin which does not have as good reviews, and didn't want to fall into the trap of hoping for the Harbourfront because I had to bid higher. So told myself I was bidding $70 for the Westin and got lucky. This is going to be a nice ending to a camping trip. Thanks again betterbidding, bid through the PRICELINE link as always.$60 - no, one-time offer to add $17$65 - no$70 - acceptedYour Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$70.00Subtotal: US$140.00Taxes & Service Fees: US$30.46Total Charges: US$170.46
