nbafana Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Hello,I'm new to betterbidding.com as well as hotwire and priceline. I'm looking to book 3 rooms for August 7-9. The hotels I would like are Encore, Wynn, The Venetian, Bellagio. But I would like to keep it under $200/night. I read all about the hotwire search and when I searched, based on the icons, I think I got Caesar's for $198 and Venetian for $219. Would love to spend less so that's why I'm considering Priceline. Please help! Thanks!
AaronJB Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Welcome to the site.Keep in mind that there is no way to 100% guarantee a particular hotel or hotels via HOTWIRE or (especially) PRICELINE. The reason why both services can offer such discounts (again, especially with PRICELINE) is that users have to be a little flexible on where they stay. If you were to bid on PRICELINE, you could very easily wind up with a different hotel than one of the ones you listed. PRICELINE - much like a bet in Vegas - is the luck of the draw. What are the amenity icons showing with the HOTWIRE listings in question. Please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links when you are ready to book.
nbafana Posted July 25, 2009 Author Report Posted July 25, 2009 For what I think is Caesar's, it said 4.5* Central Strip and once I clicked on see amentities the icons were:Casino, Fitness center, Pool, Restaurants, Business Center, High speed internet, Goft, tennis, SPAFor what I think is Venetian, it said 5* Central strip and the full list of amentities were:Casino, Fitness center, Pool, Restaurants, Business Center, High speed internet, Goft, tennis, SPASo for PRICELINE, if I choose Central Strip north or Central strip south and I bid on a 5* is there a limited set of hotels that could come up? And is Trump Hotel one of them? I'm flexible in the sense that I'd really like a 5* hotel that is on the main strip. I assume that there is a finite number of hotels that I could get with those parameters? Thanks!
thereuare Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 I agree with your guesses that the 4.5* is likely Caesars and the 5* likely the Venetian. If you bid 5* North Strip (where the other 5* hotels that you mentioned are located) you DO stand to potentially receive the Trump, as that is a 5* hotel in that zone. You can see the 5* hotels reported to the board in this zone in the Priceline Hotel ListIf you're trying to avoid the Trump you won't be able to do so with PRICELINE, you'll have to use HOTWIRE and choose a property that shows a Casino icon (the Trump doesn't have a casino, so you 'know' you won't be receiving that property. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
nbafana Posted July 26, 2009 Author Report Posted July 26, 2009 Thanks for the response. One more question...Based on the link you included in the last post, if I bid 5* hotel for south strip the only hotel that i could get is THE Hotel at Mandalay Bay right? Thanks
AaronJB Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 The only 5* that has been *reported to the board* is the Mandalay Bay. Additionally, there's no way to know for sure if that particular hotel has PRICELINE inventory for these dates.Thank you for using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links.
