jerry2004 Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 Hi - bidding on these dates soon for downtown. Just wanted opinions on starting high up in my bids to perhaps avoid getting Westin? Or is there not really a guarantee that I won't just get the Westin anyway if I bid $70-$89? In which case I may start lower in my bids. Thanks. I will be using the PRICELINE link
AaronJB Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 There is no way to avoid getting a particular hotel (for example, the Westin) that may show up when you bid for a particular star rating/area.If you try bidding more to avoid a particular hotel, you will almost certainly pay more than you should have for a hotel you could have gotten for less. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.
thereuare Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 See this thread for an indepth discussion: Don't Bid Higher for a Specific HotelIf you're trying to target a specific hotel HOTWIRE can be a better option. I would start there to see if you believe the hotel you're hoping for is offered for your dates. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin yoru travel purchases.
