Didn't have any particular preference about where to stay except that it was in Manhattan. The bidding process (detailed below) got us a great price for a 4*+ hotel on Manhattan. Was hoping to score closer to midtown, but we just want to be in the city.Here is my bidding strategy:1st bid (3.5 stars): $90 in Times Square-Theatre District2nd bid (3.5 stars): $100, added Midtown East/West3rd bid (3.5 stars): : $101, added Central Park South and West4th bid (3.5 stars): : $105, added Empire State Building Area5th bid (3.5 stars): : $106, added Upper West Side6th bid (3.5 stars): : $110, added Times Square-Theatre District7th bid (3.5 stars): : $115, added Chelsea8th bid (3 stars): : $115, dropped to 3 stars9th bid (3 stars): : $115, added Downtown-Soho-Financial DistrictFinally accepted 9th bid at $115, upgraded to 4 stars with the Millenium Hilton, bidding on Downtown-Soho-Financial-District/MTE/MTW/ESB/CPS/MSG/Times Square.
