Priceline Hotel: 4* NYC (Downtown-Soho-Financial District) Millenium Hilton

Date of stay: Saturday, July 25, 2009, one night.

We are travelling to Lancaster County, PA from Boston and decided to try and see if we could stay a night in NY, NY to show the kids the big city. Didn't have any particular preference about where to stay except that it was in Manhattan. The bidding process (detailed below) got us a great price for a 4*+ hotel on Manhattan. Was hoping to score closer to midtown, but we just want to be in the city.

Here is my bidding strategy:

1st bid (3.5 stars): $90 in Times Square-Theatre District

2nd bid (3.5 stars): $100, added Midtown East/West

3rd bid (3.5 stars): : $101, added Central Park South and West

4th bid (3.5 stars): : $105, added Empire State Building Area

5th bid (3.5 stars): : $106, added Upper West Side

6th bid (3.5 stars): : $110, added Times Square-Theatre District

7th bid (3.5 stars): : $115, added Chelsea

8th bid (3 stars): : $115, dropped to 3 stars

9th bid (3 stars): : $115, added Downtown-Soho-Financial District

Finally accepted 9th bid at $115, upgraded to 4 stars with the Millenium Hilton, bidding on Downtown-Soho-Financial-District/MTE/MTW/ESB/CPS/MSG/Times Square.
