fosterboxermom Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Hi, I am new to bidding on Priceline. I have bid on Hotels and have gotten the ones I wanted and pretty much understand how that works, however I am completely lost when it comes to the the Airlines. I am looking for a flight from Norfolk 12/12/09 to San Juan returning back to Norfolk 12/27/09 and I saw that the ticket was $448.00. OK now that was with ONE stop. If I bid, what do I bid and how do I know or will I know if I am going to get a ticket with ONE or TWO stops. There are several tickets offered from 6 hours all the way up to 11 hours. Is there a way I can narrow it down to knowing what I MIGHT get or is is a crap shoot? Thanks for any help you can give me. Oh and what should I bid? Half of $448? Or 40% 0ff? thereuare Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! You basically agree to at least one stop/connection OR you can agree to up to two stops and/or connections. For the fare above, what is the breakdown between base fare and taxes/fees? How much would you need to save in order to make an 'opaque ticket' (where you won't know the route, times, length of layover, etc) worthwhile? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. fosterboxermom Posted July 23, 2009 Author Report Posted July 23, 2009 The problem is I don't care about the route, times, etc. getting there, however, I have to have a flight after 11am minimum coming back because it is getting off a cruise in San Juan and I can't have a 6 am departure. I would never make it. When looking at the break down for the $448. I can't get a departure for the return portion for that price, they are all 6 am or earlier. So I would be afraid to bid on something that would give me a return I couldn't change. So I guess it is a crap shoot. Live your life by what you give, not by what you earn
