Priceline Hotel: Chicago -U2 Concert

Hi, I am trying to get a room for 9/11 to 9/13 ( Friday and Saturday, U2 concert weekend): it seems impossible!

I'm seeing a 3* for $129 in the Loop on HOTWIRE. Given the concert is at Soldier Field, the optimal location would be within the Loop, but if you don't mind a slightly farther taxi ride, you may want to consider bidding for 3* in the River North/NMA area, where you may have a better chance at success. I would not recommend bidding under 3* in either area.

Given the very high rates I'm seeing at some properties on these dates, I'm guessing that either there's a LOT of u2 fans coming from out of town for this concert or there's a convention going on.

I was having the same problem (traveling out there for the concerts from 9/9-9/14). Got two 4* hotels after splitting bid into 9/9-9/12 and 9/12-9/14, both in Millennium-Loop-Grant Park area. First is Hyatt Regency at $80 and 2nd is Renaissance at $110.

Turns out there is a 75,000 person convention in for the weekend according to the Chicago convention website. Once we found that out, we upped the bid for the 2nd part of our trip and was successful.

I am trying to get North Michigan and Millennium Park, $ 90, 3*, nothing....Added Lincoln park and greater Chicago, still no luck..... Thanks :)

How high did you bid about? (was $90 your high bid or your first bid and then you increased with re-bids?)

Is Greater Chicago an acceptable zone as well, as that is not a re-bid zone... although you do have two re-bid zones when bidding 3*, Greater Chicago is not one of them (are you aware of your other re-bid zones besides Lincoln Park)

I started at $65 and included Lincoln park.

Now, I don't know what to do....I thought 3 * are everywhere, so I don't want to risk adding new zones and ending up going so far away!....
