Priceline Hotel: 4* Pittsburgh (Downtown) Renaissance

WOW! I've just become a B-I-G- huge fan of betterbidding.com!! I read as many posts as I can, did a dry-run and tried the steps suggested without going all the way through with the process, read more posts on TripAdvisor (TA), and finally bid on a 4* hotel in Pittsburgh downtown knowing that it will either be the Omni, Renaissance, or Westin.

My son is travelling through the eastern side of the country to play in golf tournaments. Due to budget constraints, he's had to stay in traditional hotel/motel type places. So I figured I'd try and treat him to a nice bed in Pittsburgh. TA members have been good to me in the past so when I read posts about 4* hotels such as the Ren and Omni, as well as links to BB, I decided to try it.

I did my research as y'all suggested and knew going in that the only 4* hotels are in Downtown mentioned above. So I did my bidding by starting with what I wanted, then adding zones that did not have 4* and increased the price based on winning bids previously posted.

1st bid $60, 4*, Downtown - rejected. Was offered to increase the bid $17 ($77 total), but I declined.

2nd bid $63, 4*, Downtown + Southside - rejected.

3rd bid $65, 4*, Downtown + Southside + University Center - rejected.

4th bid $70. 4*, Downtown + Southside + University Center + Airport - ACCEPTED AT RENAISSANCE!

Renaissance is the perfect location because he's going to see the Pirates play on Saturday and all he has to do is walk across the bridge that is supposedly close to the Ren.

Thanks for all your help. My son will be in the Houston/Dallas area later in August and we will definitely use the methods I learned on your site to get him a place to stay. I can't wait to bid again!!
