robinlam Posted July 29, 2009 Author Report Posted July 29, 2009 Dear Better Bidding,Please help in identifying Hotwire Hotel for Honolulu 4* for Dec 7-14 for $135 per nightAmenities include beachfront, fitness, pool, restaurant, business centre, laundry facilities. Thanks,
thereuare Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 The property immediately above has not yet been identified. However, if you change your search to 2adults/2chidlren a 'new' 4* appears in this zone for the same price but has an Internet amenitcy icon on addition to the above amentiies:Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, LaundryThis is a match for the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach so that would be our best guess for this one. Given the same price point, and the 'same-ness' of the amenities, it's possible this is the same property you're seeing on your 2adults/0children seach above, but if you're interested in trying to target this proerty it would be 'safer' (as safe as an opaque purchase can be) to purchase as 2adults/2children since that is the amenity combatinion this property has previously been seen with. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. robinlam Posted July 30, 2009 Author Report Posted July 30, 2009 I will definately use the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE link through betterbidding. What would be a bidding strategy on Priceline for Honolulu (Waikiki Beach Area) for the dates I have requested? I would choose resorts and would like to get a property between $90-$110 USD per night. What are my chances of getting a hotel? Would the hotel choices come down to Sheraton Waikiki and Hyatt Regency? The Hilton Waikiki is selling at 127 USD non-refundable and the hotel Outrigger on HOTWIRE (which you so graciously provided for me is at $135 USD. Last question, I have read from other posts that the Marriott shows up both in 4* and Resort. Is that possible? Thanks again,Robin
thereuare Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 If you bid Resort you can receive any property that is Resort class rated by PRICELINE, of where there are more than just the Hyatt and Marriott. You can see the hotels reported to the board in our Priceline Hotel List (note that these are just the hotels reported to the board and there could be others)Each hotel will only appear at one star rating. The Marriott (at one) time was rated 4* but as is currently rated Resort by PRICELINE (as of the last 'known' report to the board)At the Resort level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select Resort Waikiki Beach...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110Any questions feel free to ask. Thanks for starting your bids with our PRICELINE link on the board.Good luck and let us know how it goes. robinlam Posted August 3, 2009 Author Report Posted August 3, 2009 Thanks for all your help. Once I start bidding I will use the betterbiddding PRICELINE link. I had one last question. If I look at the hotels on Priceline that are in the resort category (if I booked directly with Priceline) would I for sure get one of these hotels if I chose the name your own price? There wouldn't be any surprises and a different hotel be introduced. Thanks,If you bid Resort you can receive any property that is Resort class rated by PRICELINE, of where there are more than just the Hyatt and Marriott.
