Hotwire Hotel: 4.5* Chicago (Mag Mile-Wacker) InterContinental

I have been researching a little romantic getaway for myself and my girlfriend for a couple of weeks now, really hitting hotwire all the time trying to look for a good deal. I was also going to try priceline right before for 10/29.

The night of 10/28, I spotted a 4.5* (Selected amenities include: Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Business Center - Mag Mile/Wacker Dr - Cust. Favorite) on Hotwire for $69. Obviously, seemed like the best deal. Went for it and it turned out to be the Intercontinental, which surprised me because for some reason I just didn't think that hotel was involved with Priceline/hotwire.

Looking at hotwire, the same listing is still there for the night of 10/29, only for $70 now. It does not seem to come up for 10/30 (looking at the hotel's website, it appears to be booked solid for Saturday night, 10/30). It does seem to come up for 10/31, but while it was around $70ish for that night yesterday, it now comes up at $99. It also appears to come up for 11/1 at $100.

Anyways, while I've heard some mixed things about the service of this hotel, I'm really eager to stay there since it's quite a historic hotel (I'm from Chicago, walked by it a lot) and I'm eager to swim in the famed pool.

You shouldn't have been surprised with the Inter-Continental as this property is in our CHICAGO HOTWIRE HOTEL LIST with the same exact amenities as you mentioned above.

Do you still a hotel room for the other nites or were you simply checking in case others were interested in this?

I was researching rooms for days around this night (wanted one night, just searching for a night w/the best deal and I think $69 for the Intercontinental - even if it's not the best room - is a very satisfying bargain)

I listed the other nights re: Intercontinental just if anyone else was interested.
