Priceline Hotel: 4* Chicago (Millenium-Loop-Grant Park) Palmer House Hilton

My boyfriend and I are going to Chicago for a short trip from 7/31-8/4 (4 nights stay). We will not drive, so we're looking for a place with convenient transportation.

I focus on:

"Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park" or "NMA - River North Area", 3*up, my budget is $60 after tax and service fee.

I tried to bid $50 but was denied.

Is there any tips for the bidding strategy? or will $50 be too low for 3* hotels?

I'd recommend trying $55 for a 4* in the Millennium Park/Loop/Grant Park area and then if that does not work, $60 for a 4* in the MP/Loop/Grant Park area. Unfortunately, I don't think $50 is going to be realistic for a 3* or 4*
