tiesto Posted July 18, 2009 Report Posted July 18, 2009 Be Aware The Mira is still have renovations going on!I stayed at the Mira from June 23-27 2009. It was a surprise to see this hotel at PL. I was aiming for JW Marriott, luckily I started with a low bid. So check out rates before you bid on PL.Please be aware Hong Kong has some older 5star properties(Marco Polo hotels etc.) so check info on HK hotels forehand!I took the Airport Express and later Shuttle Bus from AE Kowloon Station to the Mira(K4).Checkin was easy and fast(though we were the only one at that time). I requested by email a non-smoking, Twinbedroom.Which was granted to me.Bedroom was spacious(there are small rooms in HK, stayed at the Kowloon Hotel with a 18sqm standardroom), nicely decorated. Big LCD Screen, nice Vaio entertainment system, FREE fast internet in room and FREE fast WI-FI in room and Hotel.Bathroom with seperate tub and shower. Free bottled water. Two very comfortable beds(app 135cmx190cm) could sleep 2 adults and 2 kids. You can choose various Pillows.I did not care for minibar(well stocked). Very, very comfortable chair to sit in.Staff very friendly and the Coffee at the COCO bar was excellent(a bit more expensive than Starbucks, but worth every penny)I think the price for Cityview room is very attractive, it starts at around 1300HK$, PL is a bit cheaper. Mind you this is a mid-level 5star Hotel. You can stay at Sheraton or Marco Polo hotels, but go and just try the Mira. It`s worth the experience.Ofcourse there a better Hotels ie FourSeason, Peninsula, Manderin O. but you pay for that! HK$2500 and up, but I do not like the stiffness of the Manderin.sLocation is superb, 2minutes from MTRstation, accross the street The Miramar Shopping Center and Knutsford Steps/ Terrace 1 minute away!I did not check out the pool or gym, nor did I eat at it`s restaurants(Though I heard it`s offering a great Buffet Dinner and has a good DimSum restaurant)We would certainly stay here next time or the FourSeasons must be similiar priced ;-)PM me if you have some special requests, I have the Frontdesk managers personal emailaddress.
