Looking for a convertible only if it's less than $250, otherwise will just get an economy. Haven't bid yet, but will soon after reading responses. Lowest price I found was on southwest.com for $250 with tax for economy through their special with budget.

What does a $250 'all-in' price equate to for a maximum bid once fees and taxes are included??

I'm asking how high of a bid could you make via PRICELINE or HOTWIRE so that the 'all-in' total would be less than the $250 all-in rate you're currently seeing for these dates?

Did you already book the Budget special through SWA? Cheapest I see on their site is $312.

I doubt you're gonig to be successful for a convertible, but you can try. Assuming you're still looking for either a convertible or economy i would bid as follows:

Convertible: Bid $22

Economy: Bid $18

Over the next 4-5 days i would bid every 24 hours, increasing the convertible bid by $1 and the economy bid by $2.
