HNL Ohau Convertible Alamo

I bid $30 on a convertible at the HNL airport from 9/11 to 9/16, and was accepted by Alamo. Total of $185 for 5 days including taxes and fees. The lowest I could get it down to on a regular reservation, using all the discount and coupon magic I had (which is considerable), was $248. So I saved myself about 60 bucks -- not too bad.

I tried $20 and then $25 over the last few days -- both were rejected. $30 was accepted.

Hope the info is helpful to some people out there. Thanks for a great board. (I am a long-time lurker, first-time poster.)

p.s. has anyone ever reported the Turtle Bay resort on the North Shore of Oahu? Only the "resort" category is available in that zone, and the only resort (or anything even remotely close) is Turtle Bay. It also seems to be available on Hotwire for about $185 in September -- I wonder how much lower one could get it on Priceline. If I get it I will report to the board, but I wonder if anyone has ever had experience winning. The rack rate is $255 and it's available via Expedia and Orbitz for about $210. Thanks in advance for any help.
