binarynut Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 Of course I used the better bidding PRICELINE link. I ended up paying the price for waiting too long. I had been watching the prices slowly sink on HOTWIRE so I had been trying for four star hotels in the 70's on what appears to be a busy weekend. Somehow I missed out and the US dollar is falling, so I'll settle for this hotel, its a great location and well worth the money. I had a room reserved at the Y for 94 (CAD), this will certainly be a bit more luxurious and more centrally located on Howe Street for the events of the weekend such as the international fireworks compettion.
thereuare Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Glad to hear this will work out well for your needs... much nicer than the Y, and a few dollars cheaper too!Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay... and the fireworks! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
tilepusher Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 Actually, the Y isn't all that bad (I assume that binarynut is referring to the YWCA Hotel on Beatty St.), but I think I'd rather stay at the Holiday Inn too.The World Police and Fire Games also starts that weekend.
binarynut Posted July 17, 2009 Author Report Posted July 17, 2009 I've stayed at the YWCA a couple of times and its quite comfortable. Not what one would normally expect from staying at a Y.
