Welcome to BetterBidding!

Rates are curerntly somewhat high for your dates, it is seasonally a stronger season than summer, but not sure if that's the onlyl factor currently affecting rates (or if it's just early or if there is something big happening in town on these dates, such as a meeting at the UN)

While i doubt you'll currently be successful at $140 or less for a 3.5* or higher, you could certainly give it a try. I do think you have a chance at a 3* for this price, but not sure if you want to lower your star rating 2+ months before your stay or if you prefer to wait it out.

I'm not very surprised at your rejection up to $124... i thought/think you have a chance at $140 or less, but it's far from a 'sure thing', that bids 10% lower would have a low chance of success at the moment, imo.

Still plenty of time to take it slow though.

Still nothing. I've seen a lot of new topics for these dates but all without luck.

I went up to $140 excluding tax for 4 and 3.5 * and $135 for 3*.

I booked the new Comfort inn Manhattan Bridge for only $345. The location isn't great but it's new so I think it's clean, free breakfast and very close to the subway station. Can cancel 2 days before arrival so I still have time to bid.

Well I went up to $160 for a 3* property but without luck.

I was able to get 2 free nights certificates for any Hampton inn so I decided to book the Hampton Inn Empire State Building. If it all works out I only need to pay the first night of my stay.

Thanks for all your advice!
