gogators Posted July 16, 2009 Author Report Posted July 16, 2009 Could you please help identify this hotel with amenities of fitness center, restaurant, business center and high speed internet service? Does this sound like a good deal? Thanks
AaronJB Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 This would likely be either the Doubletree Met or the Tudor at the UN. If this is the Doubletree, it would be a very nice discount off the regular rate.Unfortunately, if it's the Tudor, I can find a similar deal on Expedia - $147.47 per night - $10 using the 10JUL coupon = $137.37 per night, plus a $50 giftcard for gas if you pay using a mastercard. So, overall, I don't think this would be the best route to take for these dates. Are you looking to be in MTE only, or are you flexible on area? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links when you are ready to purchase.
gogators Posted July 16, 2009 Author Report Posted July 16, 2009 I'm pretty flexible on area, but would rather not stay in Soho. Why, any other ideas? Thanks

gogators Posted July 16, 2009 Author Report Posted July 16, 2009 Had you tried the 3.5* bidding or looking at other options before going that route? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.I did. I bid up to $110.00 for a 3.5* without any luck. At the $100.00 bid I received the message to add $22.00 and bid again. I plan to try again tonight (after the 24 hour wait), but this time bid up to $130.00 for a 4* and $120.00 for a 3.5*. Thanks
gogators Posted July 17, 2009 Author Report Posted July 17, 2009 OK, I just got the Tudor UN for $115.00. The reviews are mixed and I'm not sure how to feel about this. Is this a good deal and a good hotel? Thanks
thereuare Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 Congratulations on your win!I've stayed at this property... by NYC standards the room was decent sized and clean, although a little dark. I wouldn't expect the Ritz nor the Westin, but 3.5* seems pretty accurate... it doesn't have a 'grand' lobby, the front desk is more like a large cubby hole as opposed to a welcoming lobby, and i don't recall seeing a concierge (they may have one, i didn't need so didn't look too hard), so it's lacking some of these service-type ammenities of a higher rated hotel, but it served it's purpose and was easy enough to get to the subway at Grand Central. If there's anything specific you'd like to know feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
