simplyamy Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 Hi! I was looking through some of the threads here and noticed that many of them were a little bit old for this week in Aug so I wasn't sure if the deals still applied. This is my first time using PRICELINE / HOTWIRE so any advice and help would be much appreciated. I'm a college student traveling with a friend so I'd really like a great deal for a nice weekend. I'll definitely be using the links to PRICELINE on this site. Thanks!

simplyamy Posted July 15, 2009 Author Report Posted July 15, 2009 I'm looking for a hotel close to Sea World, but we'll have a car so its not necessary for it to be really close if that changes the options in pricing. I'm also looking for 3 stars and up, but generally something that is clean and in the area. thank you
thereuare Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Everyone's idea of "close" is different, please go to PRICELINE and look at their map of the San Diego region and let us know which zone(s), by PRICELINE name, you're willingn to accept. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. BeritOlam Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 SimplyAmy,I plugged in your dates to HOTWIRE....I'm showing a 3-star Holiday Inn near Sea World for $64/night. It's a very short drive to Sea World/Mission Bay and is relatively close to a lot of stuff in SD. I doubt the hotel will make you 'oooo' and 'awe' and it's certainly not the nicest area you could stay at in SD. But it's good bang for the buck. There's a 3-star Best Western in Old Town for $79/night. A little nicer than ^^. More of a quaint 'old town' feel. Lots of cool restaurants within walking distance. Easy access to I-5, and only about a 7-8 minute drive to Sea World (with no traffic!).There's also a 3-star in Mission Valley for $79/night that appears to be either the Doubletree or the Crown Plaza. Both are solid stays. Hotels are everywhere in this area....so expect more congestion. Easy drive into SeaWorld from either property.PRICELINE might give you some slightly different selections....haven't checked to see.
