OceanMist Posted July 18, 2009 Author Report Posted July 18, 2009 AaronJB, 3 questions: 1) I should have asked this before I booked... Since this is a Sister trip, I'd prefer 2 beds. I think I read somewhere else here what to do BEFORE you book to ensure that, but I can't remember what that tip was. Do you know? 2) I believe at this point what I need to do is call the Fairfax to try to request a 2-bed room, right? 3) Thursday (arrival) night I'm not getting in till late, probably at 11pm. I'd guess this makes it less likely I can get special requests? (like a 2-bed room)
AaronJB Posted July 18, 2009 Report Posted July 18, 2009 Unfortunately, 2 beds are not guaranteed via PRICELINE reservations. Your best bet is to call the hotel and put in a request. However, they could say no or require an "upgrade fee". Also, I recommend being ultra-polite, as it may depend on the person you talk to whether you are successful or not. The arrival time may or may not matter, depending on the day/traffic. I'd definitely call the hotel and see if they can put in a "request" for 2 beds. The Fairfax is a Starwood property. While you would not be eligible for points since this is a discount reservation, you may want to still sign up for the hotel's frequent traveler program (free to do at SPG.COM), as it may be good to have during the conservation (or it may not be helpful, but it's free and - just my 2 cents - worth doing.)Best of luck and let us know how it goes.
