eagle Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 I am new to this site, and have not used message boards before, so I hope I am doing this correctly. I am planning a trip to NYC in Aug and would like to stay in the Soho -Tribeca area. I know that PRICELINE includes those in a large area of lower Manhattan. If I choose to bid on 4 star hotels, could I still end up in an undesirable area of lower Manhattan, or are all the 4 stars in desirable areas? We would hope to do a lot of walking, eating, etc.
thereuare Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! You can't target a specific area of a given zone, if you're going to bid that zone you should be prepared to receive a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone. Not sure if you've been to NYC before, but the midtown zones usually work best for the average visitor, as it makes for easier access to get all around the city.If you only want to stay in a particular area, you could also consider HOTWIRE where you can take use the star rating and amenities HOTWIRE associates with the hotel to take an educated guess as to what you may likely received... still some risk, but at least you have a basis to target a particular hotel/section of the zone.If you'd like to proceed with either let us know your thoughts on alternate zone(s) besides Soho-Tribeca, the actual dates of your stay, and your expected budget (per nite before taxes and fees)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
