puremega Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 One of those times when HOTWIRE beat PRICELINE. I bid to $ 80 on Priceline for 2.5* for the same dates with no success. I was hoping for a different property when I purchased but based on clues available thought this would probably be the hotel. For the time of year it is $ 25 / night less than any other alternative. Amenities listed as Pool, restaurant, biz center, laundry, internet, spaAs always used the HOTWIRE link from better bidding.
thereuare Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Congratulations on your success! While not your top choice in hotel, seems like you suspected this is where you'd end up, but felt for the price it was a decent deal.Thank you for using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase and for sharing your results with the board, helping us add this property to the Hotwire Hotel List.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
tilepusher Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 But Hotwire did not really beat Priceline here; the Inns of Banff is rated 2* by Priceline. Pretty much every case where Hotwire's price appears to be better than Priceline's is the result of Hotwire rating a particular hotel higher than Priceline does.

I'm guessing if I had dropped to 2* and bid on PRICELINE I may have done better. Thanks for the idea.
