Priceline Hotel: Bidding Advice - San Diego

I've been trying for a few weeks to get into the Country Inn in San Diego (Sorrento Mesa)

July 29 - Aug 4 (6 nights)

I've bid up to $73.33 ($65 per night plus $8.33 per night Bonus Cash)

Recent winning bids for this property have ranged from $49 - $78

Questions

Is there anything (other than the obvious, bid higher) I can do to get a good price on this?

Is the length of stay or bonus cash affecting the acceptance of my bids?

Are there other properties I should be going for (I'd like a place with breakfast & free parking)

Any suggestions are welcome,

Welcome to the site.

You cannot guarantee/go for a particular property using PRICELINE. You have to be willing to accept potentially any of the hotels at that star rating in the zone you bid on. There's also no way to guarantee free parking or breakfast, as there's no way to guarantee which hotel you get.

The bonus cash should not be an issue and I don't think length of stay would be an issue in this case - it may be simply a case of no inventory at this star level.

Are there any HOTWIRE listings showing for these dates that appeal?

I realize that there is no 100% guarantee, this seems to be the only 3* property PRICELINE deals with in the Sorrento Mesa Zone.

If you enter "Sorrento Mesa" into the QUICK SEARCH box i the blue banner at the top of the board you'll see all recent wins in this zone... while the Country Inn and Suites has been the property win for the last 3 reported wins, the Staybridge Suites and the Woodfin have also been won within the last two months, so i wouldn't exclude either of these properties either.

What is the best available rate for these dates at the Country Inn and Suites?
