Priceline Hotel: Miami Jan 29, 2005

Extra day in Miami, January 29/30, post cruise and wanted something in the beach area.

Have been trying for approximately two months using variations on the plan below:

4*

Miami Beach $50

South Beach $60

North Miami $70

SW Miami $85

3*

Repeat above

No success so far. I am prepared to go up to $100 but am I being unrealistic for that area and that time of the year?

I think you're too low for a 4* acceptance at this point, but your 3* bids are likely close and/or it's too early.

I would consider raising your 4* bids up to $100 and keep your maximum 3* bids at your current level... continue with that plan until the end of November.

Personally, i also prefer a higher rated hotel for slightly more money, so i might even consider holding off on 3* bidding at this point until i got closer to my check-in date without an acceptance.

Either way you play it, you should book a cancellable back-up now to protect yourself from any rate increases.
